A Haunted House

Jason Hermann

I was driving to get some pizza for dinner last night and stumbled upon this creeepy house on a background ;)    I  had to grab a shot of this and HDR Photography seemed like it was in order as well :)

I strapped on the Canon 24-105 f4L lens on the 5D mark II and started walking through the snow to find a composition.  This 1 looked good, so I set the camera really low to the ground and fired off three exposure’s.

I set the camera to: Av mode, f/10, ISO 100, Average metering, AEB ( -1 2/3, 0, +1 2/3)

My real place of work :)

Jason Hermann

I was at work the other day ( my real job) when the huge storm just started to hit, and I really wanted to capture how hard it was snowing outside.  I was inside my Van on the way to my first job and stopped real quick to take this shot outside the drivers window.  I put the camera on Tv mode (shutter Priority) and then lowered the shutter speed to 1/25sec.  That allowed the snow to go a bit streaky and create a nice sens of motion in the image.  DO to the low shutter speed I used the trucks window sil for support.  That was the plan anyway, and I think it cam out pretty cool for just goofin around ;)

I used the 5D mark II, and the Canon EF 24-105 f/4 L IS   @ ISO 100, 55mm, f/9, 1/25se, Tv mode

Sleeping Giants

Jason Hermann

I was driving around the other day and came across these sleeping giants :)    I’m a huge fan of pretty much all machinery, but I particularly love excavating equipment!

It was really muddy, but luckily it was early enough in the morning that the mud was still mostly frozen.  Only the top 1/2 inch or so was soft.

From the photography perspective I really wanted to make these Giants seem as big as possible so I opted for my wide angle lens :)   The Canon 17-40 f/4L and the Canon 5D Mark II  alone with my Manfrotto Tr-pod.

These are all HDR images comprised of 3 exposure’s. f/16 @ -2,0,+2, and I used Abobe Photoshop and Photomatix Pro to process the images.

Best,
Jay
