I took these last Sunday with Michele
I love this spot and shoot here atleast a few times a year. The cool thing about this area is the water level constantly fluctuates, giving us the viewer different compositions all the time.
I used the Canon 24-105 f/4 L and the 5D Mark II for all of these images. I also shot at f/16 to get a nice depth of field and shutter speed combo. These images are also HDR composites made up of 3 exposure’s -2, 0, and +2.

Michele brought these home a few days ago from Flowers By Miss Abagail located in Rock Hill, NY
Gorgeous to say the least and Natural window light was the pat I chose for these images. I also used a 25MM extension tube on the EF 24-105 f/4 L and Canon 5D mark II. I set the flowers up on the kitchen table next to the sliding glass doors and then placed my tripod on the table as low as it would go
Then I got really close switched to manual focusing and fired a few frames. Editing wise, these raw file photos were only adjusted in Adobe Lightroom then exported as jpeg. I did a little contrast, white balance, sharpening, and vignette in lightroom.

f/4 @ 1/8th sec, 95mm, ISO 200, Highlight tone priority (enabled)

f/4 @ 1/13th sec, 105mm, ISO 400, Highlight tone priority (enabled)

I took this HDR photograph yesterday as I was driving through Walden NY. The snow melt is at it’s peak and the water is raging!! I wanted to get this shot last year, but it just didn’t work out
This year though I got it
I used the Canon 5D mark II and the 24-105 f/4L. The camera was set to f/18 which is higher than I normally go, but I wanted to slow the shutter speed enough to get a nice blur effect on the water. The best way to do that is by using a neutral density filter to fool the camera eye into thinking it’s darker out, but that was in my car and up a treacherous climb I just came down
f/18 will do the job! I took 3 exposures at -2, 0, +2 and here is the result.

Walden NY - Rapids
Here is a link to Bing maps Birds eye view of the Dam. I’m not sure if it still puts out power, but it seems like it might

I was driving home from work yesterday and the clouds were absolutely amazing!! Some of the coolest clouds I’ve ever seen that I can recall. I tried to make this look exactly like what I saw, so I had to add a bunch of contrast to the image in Adobe Lightroom. Just look at these clouds! It almost looks like there going to drip right out of the sky or something
I used the 5D mark II and the Canon EF 135 f/2 L @ f/8, 1/320sec, ISO 100

I took this a few weeks ago with Michele’s Canon EF 100-400 L IS. It was freezing out, but the golden light was looking good in the early am.
I shot this Hand Held with the Canon 5D mark II, 200mm ISO 400, f/5 @ 1600sec
