Fallsburgh Falls, NY
I took these last Sunday with Michele
I love this spot and shoot here atleast a few times a year. The cool thing about this area is the water level constantly fluctuates, giving us the viewer different compositions all the time.
I used the Canon 24-105 f/4 L and the 5D Mark II for all of these images. I also shot at f/16 to get a nice depth of field and shutter speed combo. These images are also HDR composites made up of 3 exposure’s -2, 0, and +2.

Walden NY – HDR
I took this HDR photograph yesterday as I was driving through Walden NY. The snow melt is at it’s peak and the water is raging!! I wanted to get this shot last year, but it just didn’t work out
This year though I got it
I used the Canon 5D mark II and the 24-105 f/4L. The camera was set to f/18 which is higher than I normally go, but I wanted to slow the shutter speed enough to get a nice blur effect on the water. The best way to do that is by using a neutral density filter to fool the camera eye into thinking it’s darker out, but that was in my car and up a treacherous climb I just came down
f/18 will do the job! I took 3 exposures at -2, 0, +2 and here is the result.

Here is a link to Bing maps Birds eye view of the Dam. I’m not sure if it still puts out power, but it seems like it might
